Target Overview | Adalimumab, also known as Humira®, is the first fully human anti-TNFα monoclonal antibody (IgG1/kappa) that was approved for the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn's disease, psoriasis and several forms of arthritis. The antibody was produced by phage display which is specific for TNFα, and acts as a TNF inhibitor to block the activation of TNF receptors by TNFα. Common side effects include upper respiratory tract infection, injection site pain, rash and headache. |
