Target Overview Stage-specific embryonic antigen 3 (SSEA-3) is a glycosphingolipid originally identified in 1884. The oligosaccharide in SSEA-3 is composed of five carbohydrate units connected with sphingolipid. It has been reported that SSEA-3 lays a key role in identifying many types of mammalian cells with pluripotent and stem cell-like characteristics.
